Local House Tours
Brattleboro + Guilford + Dummerston
Monday, September 4, 9 am - 2 pm
Monday morning, with map in hand, move from home to home. Meet residents, builders, and designers and hear their stories. Tour a variety of tiny, small and efficient dwellings throughout Brattleboro, Guilford & Dummerston. Get your pass soon, as this tour sold out before the Fest last year. You'll be able to pick up you map at the Fest on Sunday or on your first tour stop on Monday (the address of your first stop will be emailed to you).
You'll see The Paper Boat House in its final stage of completion. Last year it was at the Fest as a shell built of structural insulated panels. This year it is sited on land in Brattleboro. Come see the defined interiors of this innovative tiny house!
When building a tiny, small or efficient house, many of us turn to camper and RV design. One stop on the tour will offer a look into beautiful vintage and new camper designs.
This first modern modular tiny house design is arguably the mobile home. Mobile homes have come along way and so have the community models. Tour two new mobile homes in a cooperative-owned park.
The tiny house movement and homesteading go hand in hand for some owners. At this stop on our tour, we'll tour a beautiful homestead where this small family has been living in their tiny house on wheels while they build their small, efficient home next door.
Brattleboro is home to a brand new, state of the art, efficient apartment complex. Apartments are the perfect tiny home with all kinds of efficiency. Tour a couple of units and see that the tiny house movement is not "one size fits all" and can include the shared walls option, too.
Have you ever dreamed of converting one of those vintage Airstream campers into a dwelling? On this stop you'll see such a dream come true. This 1979 Land Yacht is off its wheels and sited as a sweet guest house in the woods.
